  • Drag-and-Drop Proposal Page Numbers

We’ve modified our design, which has been used for years, to sync with the original Page Number logic. This allows users to drag and drop the menu page layout and the page numbering will sync to the legacy approach since almost the inception of Synergy. This graphical approach is faster to lay out your full-service proposal.

  • New Quick Entry Windows

For Beverages, Customers, Equipment, Recipes, and Venues, we have added Quick Entry Windows. This greatly improves the speed of data entry without removing any features or functionality.

  • Staff Skill Types (Empower Only)

We created something that should be a huge time saver for your sales team. When entering the skills requirements, you can now preset the default setup and breakdown times at the Skill Type level instead of doing it for every entry.

  • Contract Terms (Empower Only)

A new approach for creating very customized contracts. This can be linked to Venues modified at the event allowing the sales department greater flexibility.

  • Checklist or Timeline Report (Empower Only)

We have added the ability to filter the reporting by the department. This is valuable when you are assigning timelines to specific items on the order. Such as the Passed Hor d’Ouevres or when the Champaign will be served.

  • Multiple Types for Event File Sharing (Empower Only)

We have expanded our Event Stored File types for sharing files. This increase will be extended to our mobile and web apps:

    • Public – the original approach
    • Client – something you might want to share just with the client such as an “Invoice”
    • Captain – documents that might be appropriate for just the Event Captains or Supervisors in the staffing departments.
    • Event Staff – this would be a generalized document for everyone at the event. Maybe a Timeline report or a Floorplan.

  • Strong Password

As we moved into stronger security, some users need some assistance here on Strong Passwords. Below is a Wiki link, as well as a generalized description, and an example. Of course, the Password Generator might be your friend as well.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Password_strength

    • Consider a minimum password length of 8[30] characters as a general guide. Both the US and UK cyber security departments recommend long and easily memorable passwords over short complex ones.[31][32]
    • Generate passwords randomly where feasible.
    • Avoid using the same password twice (e.g. across multiple user accounts and/or software systems).
    • Avoid character repetition, keyboard patterns, dictionary words, letter or number sequences.
    • Avoid using information that is or might become publicly associated with the user or the account, such as user name, ancestors’ names or dates.
    • Avoid using information that the user’s colleagues and/or acquaintances might know to be associated with the user, such as relatives’ or pet names, romantic links (current or past), and biographical information (e.g. ID numbers, ancestors’ names or dates).
    • Do not use passwords that consist wholly of any simple combination of the aforementioned weak components.

Example – Winner!Chicken99 or you could use a password generator (https://passwordsgenerator.net/)

  • Fusion Update

This is the first update we’ve done for Fusion since February. Almost 100% of our focus has been on our web version, we call Empower. However, we’ve done some new work that needs is now requiring us to sync up both versions again.

    1. We added more Public fields for the Event Files, meaning, you can tag a file Public as we’ve offered for years, or tag it for your client, and then in Staffing you can tag it for general Staff, and Captains. This will be implemented on our Mobile app in the coming weeks and is only available in the Blazor version.
    2. We added the Department to the Event Timeline (or Checklist). Again, on the web version, you have been able to build out your Event Timeline or Captain’s report, however, now we can modify the reporting to be by Departments such as Food, Beverage, etc.
    3. In staffing, we have added logic for Setup and Breakdown times at the Skill Type setup. This logic will automatically insert the assigned times before and after the event thus streamlining some of your data entry tasks.
    4. An improvement to the Event Proposal and Contract Reporting, we added a Contract Terms window for creating your terms. You can have more flexibility at the event level now by enabling or disabling various terms.

Please note, these changes are only available in our HTML web version but the existing Fusion version will work fine with the new logic.
